Detroit to Chicago for Tom in 1999. Downtown seemed like the song to play tonight.

Caribou "Suddenly" (2020 merge)
One of the tracks is named "Cloud Song" and another "Sunny's Time", and the cover has a pool with some ripples from a drop of water (rain?). I think that covers the prompt. Caribou's Dan Snaith is from Dundas Ontario, a suburb of Hamilton. Suddenly is an excellent entry into Caribou's discography. The electronic production is characteristic Caribou, but the hooks are everywhere here and Snaith completely sheds the hesitancy to fully use his vocals, which is featured on every track. Suddenly is peak form Caribou in my opinion, the logical evolution from the albums Our Love and Swim, which preceded it.
So this is what my month ended up looking like, with @threesunrises's prompts and my self-imposed Canadian artist feature. I ended up being able to feature Canadian musicians from all of the country's regions, which I'm very happy about. Thanks for running @threesunrises ! Much appreciate the work you put into the challenge. Now to try and solve the puzzle...

Recorded during a torrential downpour at Bonnaroo.
“I’ll never forget it” reflects Jim James “We’re playing & the sky just rips open & rain starts pouring down. People are losing their minds because they’re so happy to be getting soaked. We are playing on stage with no shoes on, and the whole stage is covered in water, and everybody is petrified that we are going to get electrocuted, but it was such a transcendent moment that we just didn’t even care.”

Thanks so much for the fun month @threesunrises ! Happy anniversary, and that looked like an absolutely fantastic setlist from the show last night to celebrate it with.

Suso Sáiz - Rainworks
Experimental cloud structure on the cover, and the closing track "A Rainy Afternoon." Rain sounds and swaths of thunder can be heard across this ambient/electroacoustic 2xLP.

Thanks @threesunrises! That was a lot of fun, and I hope you'll run one of these again.
I added an extra subchallenge for myself to only play first spins for this challenge, between fresh grabs and backlog.
Here's what my month looked like:
