Album of The Year - Endgame

I'll do this now because I know I'll forget once I'm up north. This is probably the best year I remember doing for this. Really wish I had more time to listen to some of the stuff on lists here less familiar to me, but alas. Most of these could have been number 1 for a lot of other years.

1. Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water (10 pts.)
2. Grateful Dead - American Beauty
3. Neil Young - After the Gold Rush
4. Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead
5. Joni Mitchell - Ladies of the Canyon
6. Van Morrison - His Band and the Street Choir
7. Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - Déjà Vu
8. Vashti Bunyan - Just Another Diamond Day
9. Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman
10. Black Sabbath - Paranoid (1 pt.)

Honourable mentions:

8. Badfinger - No Dice

1) Grateful Dead - Workingman's Dead (probably because I just got off a huge Dead kick. Oh well, it's my favorite studio album of theirs.)
2) Alice Coltrane - Ptah the El Daoud (Alice has become one of my all time favorite artists over the last couple of years)
3) The Stooges - Funhouse
4) Miles Davis - Bitches Brew (Probably my least favorite from this run of electric albums but it's also Miles. I think I'm in the minority that prefers his electric run to the 1st and 2nd quintets.)
5) Velvet Underground - Loaded
6) The Kinks - Lola vs Powerman (Strangers is my favorite Kings song)
7) Led Zeppelin - III
8) Derek and the Dominoes - Layla (Duane is one of my three or four favorite guitarists ever *pours one out*. Eric isn't too shabby either.)
9) Neil Young - After the Gold Rush
10) Grateful Dead - American Beauty

Damn, among others these didn't even make the cut. Loaded year:

for whatever reason, I feel like I'm forgetting a big one, but that's still a hell of a list

Wasn’t Clarity out in 98?

Off the top of my head, immediate stand outs would be flips’ Soft Bulletin, Fiona Apple’s When the Pawn, Sigur Ros’ Aegitis Byrjun, wilco’s Summerteeth, and d-plan’s The Emergency & I

From an Oztrayan perspective, bluebottle kiss’ Patient, and second records from Not From There and possibly Pnau (although did Sambanova came out in 98 too?)

1999:
  1. Built to Spill - "Keep It Like a Secret"
  2. Sigur Rós - "Ágætis byrjun"
  3. The Dismemberment Plan - "Emergency & I"
  4. The Flaming Lips - "The Soft Bulletin"
  5. Boredoms - "Vision Creation Newsun"
  6. The Magnetic Fields - "69 Love Songs"
  7. Wilco - "Summerteeth"
  8. American Football - "American Football"
  9. Blur - "13"
  10. Fiona Apple - "When the Pawn"
