Definitely shouldn’t be noisier...what are you doing cleaning-wise?

@MikeH cleaning with Groocewasher G2 fluid and the Walnut cleaning pad. Letting the fluid soak into the record for about then seconds then manually turning the platter with the pad sitting on top for about 3-5 rotations then drying with the opposite edge for about 3 rotations. Every time I put the needle down it is drastically noisier. Think it could be static?

The prevailing consensus is that you have to actually remove deitritus as opposed to just dissolving it and relocating it on the record.

It's most likely static buildup from drying the record.
