Up until Steve left I'd probably seen them in concert more than any other band ... Those first few albums are perfect, and they were an amazing live act.
I discovered BNL through the Dr. Demento show (who played "Be My Yoko Ono" shortly after the release of Gordon). Hardly anybody in the states knew them until Stunt came out but I still love all of those albums, all the way up through Everything To Everyone.
Growing up very close to the Canada border meant I got all sorts of fantastic northern exposure. BNL before they were cool, The Red Green Show, legal drinking age of 19...
