I havent given enough time to Big Thief, so I cant speak on them, but that Weyes Blood album is nothing special. It's not bad and probably deserves to be on P4ks top 50, but not top 10.

Give me any genre over soft guitar or piano driven indie rock. Its 2019, all of that has been done before.

Sorry Woob, I gotta disagree with p much every take. Weyes Blood is my 1st or 2nd AOTY, both Big Thiefs are in my top 10, and NFR is in my top 15 and probably the best pop album of the year.

If the 'soft guitar or piano driven" is all you're basing it on, you're missing about 99% of it, especially with Weyes Blood

Thats fine, I expected all of those albums on the list, but FKA and Jamila put out better, more forward thinking, more important albums than all of those

Jamila and FKA are also in my top 10 for what that's worth (will actually reassign the designation of best pop album of 2019 to twigs, but I still really like NFR).

@Memo I'm not missing much, all indie rock is same sounding and is a copy of a copy. I've tried multiple times with Weyes Blood and I'm not missing anything special. It's an album that's been made a dozen times before and will be made another dozen times in the future. It's the definition of fine.

And dont get me started on P4ks taste in hip hop lately....

@Memo burna boy is nothing, the only real surprise pop rap album i actually liked they recommended this year was polo g which i was pleasantly surprised with

Danny Brown is the best hip hop album on that list and it barely cracks my top 50 in the genre. Rico and Denzel have a few songs each I like but the albums overall arent anything special. Burna Boy as the highest ranked rap album is a joke. I do need to try to get into Mike because he seems right up my alley but I always forget about him.
