@gafacaode - I recently moved some records around to free up some tightness. I'm down to 12 Expedit squares left - maybe 15 if I move my box set to the top, which will have to happen eventually. I know I need to slow down buying stuff, but so much great music is getting released.

@LeeVing - Oh yeah I've definitely thought of moving around some boxsets to open up shelf space.
And I agree, every time I think "I'm good for now" there's a new cool release that I want.

Thanks for all the responses you guys, this was interesting. I asked because I have 380 and in my mind I was thinking 500 seemed like a good number to get to before I try to go one in one out, and that seems to be a number that many of you picked as the ideal size. I won't be able to do it of course, but I'm gunna try...

I have 1,523 according to discogs (that’s probably about 20 too low). I think I have 3000 CDs? I haven’t done a count of those in a while. One day, I might catalog them... some of them are already in my cogs.

Most of my collection is vinyl. I have about 350 or so CD's, but that's over a 30 year period since my first player. When I would have bought the most CD's was during the hey day of Napster and file sharing....so I didn't need to buy them....I'm making up for that behavior with buying them all now on vinyl.

Yeah, I only used Napster for stuff that wasn’t actually available. I figured if the record companies didn’t want my money, fuck them.

Ah the naspter days! I was still in school so I must have downloaded more music than I own now! It was on crappy 128k mp3s. Bought the best stuff on CD whenever I had a couple of spare quid.

@Lee Newman im quoting your 'reasonably sized collection' the next time my girlfriend says it might be getting out of hand. Discogs tells me I have around 1200 but a good 200 of them will be 7" and 12" singles.

@Murfocakes from what I remember @POGunter has an enormous collection. There was that hip hop DJ fella that @Lee Newman mentioned too. There’s always someone with more out there lmao!

I mean there’s always Questlove and Giles Peterson if you are feeling like you have too many.
