I agree ... I haven't heard anything remotely interesting from them. And I don't like the singer's voice either.

I too struggle with the singer. She weirdly reminds me of Connor Oberst.

The first few times I heard them I was like "wtf is this warpy sounding noise?" Then it suddenly clicked almost by accident. I focus more on the layers in the music and not her voice, which I admit took time to grow on me. I also couldn't stand Dylan as a young punk but now...

It took some time before they clicked for me. Their musicianship is amazing, and they are absurd live, Meek and Lenker can both shred. I'd say if their live stuff doesn't hit you, then they might not be for you at all, since you've given their studio stuff a whirl. Check out their performance from Colbert of "Not", and see if it strikes a chord.
