Having fun isn't hard if you have a library card.

I mostly stopped buying books a few years ago when I realized a) I already have a couple hundred books, and they take up a lot of space; and b) I re-read maybe 5% of them? If you've got a decent library system available to you, it's a wonder.

My wife and I are reaching to about 50, mostly all from Book of the Month. Their books are only $15, with each add on being $10. So it cuts cost about 50% on hardcover books.

Go outside. Despite REI and their ilk telling you otherwise, hiking, exploring, fishing, etc is minimal investment and super rewarding. Also second vote for gardening.
