tried that but that's not working either, it's telling me the file is too big which is why I am trying to link it from the hosting site.

That’s making me not look forward to posting up pics that I’ve been spinning.

@Enaz Fox, there's tons of pics being posted around here so I know it can be done.. hell, I was able to do it the other day...I just can't seem to figure it out today and am hoping someone can provide a fool-proof method for this fool.

I figured out a less than ideal solution for now... looks like making the file a generic link (like you would do a YouTube link) rather than a link from the photo option works. I just don't like that there's the app info in there and not just a nice clean photo

It is because the server downloads what you link. And sometimes it glitches out. You will find in most cases if you wait like a minute and reload a few times it does indeed show up.
