It's much more complicated and technically mqa is kinda weird as it takes 24 bit audio and is lossy as it makes it 16 bit but its still very much overkill and feels like drm

Yeh its probably still higher quality then the competition as its tidals ONLY play and people are capable of checking. I always thought it would be slightly under lossless myself but I had a pleasant listening experience when I last tried them out when they launched so it must be very minor.

That MQA shit is weird, there was some serious drama over at stevehoffman.tv where one dude was pushing it hard and claiming it was basically magic and a couple other guys just kept calling bullshit.
