You mean while it is on the arm?

I keep the arm cueing up and my weight on the spindle. If the arm moves, worst case, it hits the weight. No harm done.

Never dust your turntable 😅

No like I'm moving soon so I need to pack the turntable to move

I'd say remove it, put the cartridge in the box it came in - take the stylus out and put in in a box styli come in.

If the move isn't far / long and you have someone to watch, you can twisty tie the arm to something....and hope for the best.

Oh. Remove the platter. Twist tie the arm in place. Use Kleenex folded thick so the arm doesn't get scratched. Remove the counterweight so there's no stress on the bearings. Transport the turntable in your car.

Check if your turntable has transit screws and if it does, use them as well.

Thanks guys. I have the new Fluance and the box it came in so that will be packed the way I got it. Stylus not in a box but tucked under styrofoam with the protector on. My extra head shell that has a grade black I don't have a protector on so that's why I'm asking.

@dhodo what are transit screws?

Some turntables have screws under the platter to help stabilize some of the parts like the motor and or transformer under the plinth. If you don't see any under the platter, don't worry about it.
