I am at about $75-100 a month but I am currently listening to my collection and deciding what to get rid of. I have been a variant collector of so many artists but think I will eventually sell all those off. Stuff I want to fix on my house and pay off debt seem like they should be bigger priorities.
I struggled with FOMO too. Try asking yourself what you want your collection to be. Super-rare crate-digger stuff? Your favorite albums? Audiophile versions that show off a system? You can almost always listen to the music in some form or another (streaming, cd, youtube, whatever), so what do YOU want your collection to be? And then...do that
@supahypeag I think I'd want my collection to be a mix between my favorites and some rare variants of said albums. Maybe I should only focus on albums I'd REALLY listen to
@tonythegamer I've never really been too affected by FOMO ... There are probably a few titles that would get me to resubscribe to VMP though... Fiona or Stakes Is High... It also doesn't help that I don't have a chance to listen to more than a few albums a week so I have a box of stuff that has never been played
I'm under 100 a month now, unless it's RSD or something. Since quitting VMP I pretty much stick to pre-orders and deals, and the occasional trip to a local store. FOMO was easy to get past for me, I found I had quite a few records I wasn't listening to very much. Now I aim for favorite artists, genres and labels. Plus I am just about out of space.
Currently, I am at $100-175/month. My work/OT allows for this. I am not counting VMP in this estimate (I am on annual until end of the year, and only getting one RotM per month until membership expires).
I will scale back to $50-100 next year as a goal. Students loans, and other bills need to be attended to soon, although I am making good progress.
@TheMythOfSisyphus I think the highest I've ever spent in one month is like 275ish and that was because it was RSD month

Honestly it's not the money. I mean, the money is nice to have back. But really, getting records showing up everyday became overwhelming and took the joy out of the hobby.
