My thoughts exactly. Did you ever notice how he receives alot of unnecessary hate? I think it stems from the 80s and 90s you couldn't go anywhere without hearing him being played everywhere
@Jmcg85 Phil Collins has addressed the hate in interviews and acknowledges that he probably over-saturated the market in the 80s. Between solo albums, Genesis, and hearing his songs in movies and TV (Miami Vice) he was everywhere. And there have always swarmed rumors of him being an a-hole; whether true or not and I'm sure some stems from Gabriel-era Genesis fans
I’m a Gabriel era fan and can honestly say that only Phil as a member of the band could have stepped into those shoes. The only downside was missing Phil’s drumming in the live shows (but Chester was no slouch) but A Trick Of A Tale and Wind & Wuthering are every bit as classic as The Lamb, Foxtrot, etc
Other than his music I am not too educated on him. Never watched interviews etc I must. See what I think of him from that. Always found it impressive he played at both live aid venues though @TheMythOfSisyphus
Oh man his drumming is absolutely incredible really top drawer @Murfocakes

@Jmcg85 He did In the Air Tonight live on Fallon (I think?) this past year or so in conjunction with his reissue campaign. If I remember correctly, there was an interview with it. Still, Take Me Home is my favorite solo track by him. It's a nostalgia-emetic that'll have you throwing up your memories
