Was bringing out all the old winners a new thing? I imagine that's why, because that took forever, though I did like it.

@Melt Face Molly Drop I'm honestly not sure. I actually didn't watch the Oscars the past couple of years but I saw and enjoyed a lot of the movies this year so I made my return to watching. I feel like the acting categories more than any other deserves a clip showing the actors playing their roll.

There has been a steady cutting back of showing clips from nominated films at the Oscars for awhile now. I remember being annoyed in the '90s when they started substituting rapid-cut montages of the Best Picture nominees rather than show an actual clip of the film. It seems we're lucky to even get that anymore.
