My wife will drink my regular coffee (Peets Major Dickason blend) only until noon, then it's decaf. If she has caffeine to late in the day she can't sleep.
I'll drink her decaf if I want hot coffee in the morning before I go to bed.
I've never had decaf in the house before but picked up a pound at Bridgehead a bit before Christmas for the first time. I have to say, it scratches an itch when I want to have an after-dinner shot. I can't handle coffee after 3pm any more. Taste is okay, but I really need to add steamed milk to it. Allongé's and Americano's are a little harsh with the batch I got.
I love coffee. Caffeine is needed in the morning and in the middle of my shift to get to the end. However, I actually love coffee. So when we were trying to figure out was going on with my heart… I drank some decaf because it was possible the caffeine was causing my issues… when my wife was pregnant and breastfeeding, drank decaf because she couldn’t have the caffeine but we both still wanted coffee.
But also, yeah… now that we know my heart is okay and the kid no longer breastfeeds, there is no decaf in my house. On the other hand because of the holidays, there is way too much flavored coffee in the cabinet.
