AirPods don't have full functionality on Android

what functionality do you lose?

I would say just get the dongle.

You lose the ability for handsfree/voice commands (Siri) and the ability for the Airpods to know when you remove them (stops the music), plus likely losing all the touch features which change the music track, etc. Basically a $10 pair of bluetooth earbuds would do the same job as Airpods with an Android.

@BjorgenFjorgen, worst case scenario I will just use the dongle it comes with short term, but I definitely don't want that being my long term solution. @Melt Face Molly Drop, thanks for the info, I will get something other than Airpods then.

I really like my Jabra Elite 65t headphones, in the same price range.

@LeSamourai those seem to rank high on a bunch of articles/lists that I have been checking out. I definitely will look into these!
