Needles & Grooves

So either we have to settle for something we don't want sinkwise or we have to get them to rebuild the entire vanity to fit the sinks that are available. And the contractor has not returned my texts from yesterday yet. Also, this latest issue is holding up the installation of our toilet and shower. The vanity was already installed and painted.

The first joke was to tell us we're ready to demo, getting started, but not letting us know we needed to have the tub and plumbing inserts for the shower already picked out to not delay everything. Because you know, we've never done this before and that's good info to have. So we had to scramble to choose something in 2 days.

We also agreed to change out a window that was in the shower area (not sure why anyone thought that was a good idea). Oh it will be 4 weeks for the new window to arrive so are you okay with just walling up the window so we can get started? Thankfully wife forced me to go find a window at a surplus store.

We have a 2nd, smaller bathroom that's in our bedroom that needs to be redone. We're obviously going with someone else on that one. It doesn't help being a detailed oriented person for my and my wife's jobs and we keep getting these little details missed by someone we're paying a lot of money to.

I feel my texts aren't being returned because they know they screwed up massively on this and are scrambling to find a solution. Again, just little details that you would think a contractor would have covered. Also, the vanity was supposed to be 36 inches. I measured and it's 34. So those 2 inches are all the difference between the sink working and not working.

This is what I worry about with our kitchen. We want to add a dishwasher to our kitchen island but the whole thing needs to be rebuilt and we haven't quite figured it out yet.

"Go on (site all things sinks are on) and find one that's 19.5" maximum width". What's that? Everything rectangular shaped is either above 19 3/4" or below 17". But of course it is. And why am I doing this exactly and not you guys who screwed up?

Oh and we went with these guys because they were cheaper but not too much cheaper than the other choice that actually showed me how detailed he was in the process from start to finish. The adage that you get what you pay for is 100% accurate. I told my wife that we can't move on the next one until we have all of it lined up. What we want in tiles, fixtures, paint color, all of it.
