Needles & Grooves

Guy initially contacted me and made a slightly lowball offer. I didn't respond right away. Woke up the next day to him making the purchase at list price. Had instructions to ship using generic packaging & nothing saying Discogs on the shipping label. Sent the record and it was received. Days go by...I get a message that the mailer got "whooped", corners are all dinged and the records are warped.

It was sent sealed, mint, in a sturdy mailer with bubble wrap housed around the record. I said "Ok, send pictures if available, otherwise here's my address feel free to ship it back for a refund." I sent the record to Chicago. It's being shipped back to me from San Diego. My wife thinks I'll get a copy of the album back in terrible shape, while the one I sent was received perfectly fine. Thoughts?

Very suspicious.

No matter what I'm pretty powerless right? PayPal sides w/ the buyer. Discogs doesn't really get involved I don't think...

I have no experience as a seller, so I couldn't tell you for sure, but I'm not sure there's going to be much you can do unless you can prove the returned record is not the one sent out. I'd love to be wrong and am sorry you're dealing with this.

Did they have any feedback?

Silly question: do you insure higher-priced records? For example, one you can't replace easily or an amount you'd prefer not to eat if something goes awry?
