yup! it's going to automate so many jobs. Like, it would be good if we had a nice social safety net or universal basic income where people don't need to worry about how they're going to make money. But it'll kill a lot of jobs from copywriters, data enterers, some artists, or website coders, it could even kill most retail jobs. What will these people do for work when AI comes for their livelihood?
Much like fire, the rise of AI will fundamentally change the course of human history. We will need to adapt and learn to properly wield this incredibly powerful new tool. But, as vinyl enthusiasts, we recognize that humans are inherently drawn to a physical, analog experience. Art, true art, requires a human touch, and that will never fade.
Here’s the thing: AI is reliant on good data to be effective. As humans, we are REALLY REALLY BAD at providing good, clean data. GIGO, etc. I’m not super worried, because I have supreme confidence it will get all fucked up pretty quickly.
You might as well enjoy it now while it’s “fun” before things really get rolling and it’s writing movies, practicing law, enslaving humanity. In ten years, we will all be longing for the days when it was something people used to cheat on their homework and generate images of X-Men done in the style of Wes Anderson.
The issue I see with AI is that its “intenligence” and “logic” is derived from its programming by humans. So it will likely have the same frailties and weaknesses but without the inherent humanity and empathy. So we’re just creating a large mechanical sociopath. What could go wrong…
I'm not here for it, and I've flat out turned down projects based on the arbitrary-ass "mandatory" that ChatGPT be incorporated somehow for the buzz. Some marketers sure seem eager to relinquish their grip on a message for the superficial appearance of being "innovative" or "cutting-edge." It's all a regurgitation without intuitive oversight.
