Nutrition "experts" have gone back and forth on eggs and cholesterol. We have 7 chickens, so our egg supply is steady and I only have to buy feed every month or so ($14 for a 40 lb bag)

I'm allergic to milk so I haven't noticed the prices on that one. I was fortunate that 2 of my chickens started laying eggs just as prices skyrotted in the Fall. Also, they make it so I don't have to mow. Go chickens!
We go through 2-3 dozen a week. I have been buying eggs and milk at the farmers market for over a year now. And before that, I was buying the free range chicken eggs at the grocery, mainly because the chickens are treated ethically and the farmers are compensated fairly—besides that super yellowey orange yolk is far more nutritious.
