One of my all-time favorite albums. What's weird about it?

I don’t know. It kind of sounds like a Fishbone album that was produced by a glam rock producer. It’s kind of got that 80’s Stanley Clark sheen to it. Like it’s too polished. It feels produced, not like a rock band letting their hair down…

@Lee Newman Yeah. I guess I could see that. When I saw them in concert back then, Fishbone was the opening act.

Stain is a top 10 desert island disc for me, but yeah the earlier stuff is shiny

I like that, shiny. I've not listened to Stain. I do think Time's Up is better than Vivid. I listened to it recently because Questlove talked about it in Music is History.
