I gotta go with @Mather here. I’m not sure I’d even go full G. G-, absolute top, and that’d be if you caught me right after coffee in the morning. If it skips, you’re almost always immediately into F territory.

Thank you. I bought a grail (The Delgados - Hate), and they graded it VG. I doubt they play graded it (it’s a physical shop), but the scratches were way worse than what they said. Hopefully they’ll work with me.

So frustrating. I understand why places can't play grade everything but dear lord some of the store gradings I've seen aren't even based in reality.

yeah, the seller has 99.8% positive feedback and almost 500 grades, so I trusted them. Ugh.

A lot of places aren’t doing “disc/sleeve” grading either. So I don’t know if they’re averaging it or what but I don’t love that at all.

It was graded VG/VG+, sleeve was graded appropriately. Averaging the grade is just dumb

VG based on your other details but skips = auto Fair

Skip is a G. Also assuming they visually graded it and couldn’t have known it would skip. If they say accept the return no questions, I just wouldn’t leave a review at all

Sorry @MikeH but a skip is NOT a G. It says so on the Discogs grading guide: “A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be played through without skipping.”

@bettim84 sure—then Fair/poor. I don’t buy anything lower than a VG really. If it was visually graded and seller has 500+ reviews at 99.8% positive then it seems like an honest error. You’re not always going to see a skip on visual grading.

It’s time we bring these visual grading jabronis down a peg
