I spent $55 (including tip) at Alamo drafthouse yesterday for two cocktails, popcorn, and a Dr. Pepper. Things are out of control!

Oh man, if I still drank and smoked I'd have less than zero dollars for records. And I seldom drank at bars and restaurants - I was more a balconies, back alleys and buddies' places kinda drinker!

This is why I put a movie theatre and two bars in my house. It's way cheaper than going out.

Also I hate people.

My wife's nonprofit (employer) is hosting a charity gala tonight that I just crashed and the lowest tier ticket for this was $250. The silent auction has some cool music stuff, signed photos/tickets from Adele, Taylor Swift, Beastie Boys, RHCP, some country musicians I don't know, and a set of Beatles tickets.

For the $250 you get two drink tickets only. For the dinner it was $500 a person. I'm underdressed.

And even though I was supposed to get free dinner, they left me off the list and would only give me the drink tickets. It's a shame cause the food looked very impressive, while the drinks are bottom shelf garbage for some reason.

That is weak dude. I'm outraged on your behalf.

i can agree with you on the alcohol.. but i draw the line at pretzels.. the objectively best snacking food ever made

@duke86fan I love soft pretzels, some hard ones are good (I love the rye ones), but this one was not done right.

I had a really good pretzel at New Belgium Brewing in SF recently. Bad pretzels are bad but good pretzels are GOOD. Especially with some beer cheese. Mmm.
