@Tys1 that is exactly why I made this status. I'd argue their first two were more punkish, this one is more post-punk/alt-rock. I was expecting it to scratch that punk itch but it has not. It has grown on me however. I think it starts strong and ends strong. But the middle 3 tracks of Bloomsday, Roman Holiday, and The Couple Across the Way are the weak links.
@wokeupnew same, Jackie Down the Line may be my favorite song of theirs across all albums but Skinty Fia as a whole is bland and there's parts that seem Oasis-ish, but in a bad way.
Try exploring suggested/similar artists from an album you're already familiar with. Going through 2-3 generations of that will usually lead to a fun discovery.
I'm more into the hardcore punk side of stuff but these have been my standouts. Excited for Drains new one and think Clowns have something coming out as well.
Soul Glo was already mentioned
Warfare - Doomsday
Volcano - Fool 2 Tha Game
Gulch and SPY are always in the rotation as well.
@Enaz Fox yessss love me some hardcore punk. I've been listening to the Amyl and the Sniffers album from last year which is kinda hardcore. I don't really know any contemporary hardcore punk bands. I got really into hardcore/screamo/grindcore/skramz a few years back so those recs seem right up my alley.
Haven't listened to the new Pup, but it's probably a standout too.
