"Get my wife's name out your fucking mouth!" And while you're at it, think of some funny jokes!

For real though, lame ass joke by CR but holy shit what a douche move by WS to laugh first, then go on stage to assault a COMEDIAN.

Between covid, cancel culture, and this shit...I'm really starting to believe comedy as we know it is dead af. Just gonna be a bunch of Jim Gaffigans left.

I mean when you talk shit about a medical condition of someone's wife you run the risk of catching a smack across the face. but for me I don't see this as an attack on comedy, to me it was more Will Smith tired of being the butt of the jokes, especially in regards with his marriage, and snapped on Rock.

Well the thing is

1. when you watch the extended video he is clearly laughing at the joke while Jada seated behind him is rolling her eyes, then the video cuts and a few seconds later he goes on stage.... as if she sent him the "you better do something" look. He obviously thought it was funny though, so now he's just a bitch that apologizes to his wife when she cheats on him AND assaults somebody at her bequest.

2. She isn't shy of her medical condition, she profits off of it. She's a celebrity and has lived under a microscope nearly her entire adult life. She should be used to people saying some dumb tasteless shit. Sending your simp husband to assault a comedian for you isn't the answer.

not saying Will Smith handled it right or wrong, but I don't see how any of it relates to cancel culture whittling comedy down to a bunch of Jim Gaffigans

@Tillman its probably just me and getting old. I grew up with comedians telling jokes about things that would never fly on today's circuit. I think there really shouldn't be any off-limits topics in comedy. I feel WS was indicative of an overall "that's not actually funny, Mr!" attitude. Which in this particular case he's right, it wasn't funny but not because of the topic... it was just a lame joke.

nah, I'm with you on this in some ways... trust me, I enjoy rough comedy. a couple weeks back I went to a story telling show with Ari Shaffir, Tim Dillon, Shane Gillis, Mark Normand, etc. and shit was wild!

that said, there's set/setting. while all jokes should fly in a comedy club maybe that doesn't always apply outside a comedy club
