Ugh, I've had that. The only thing they told me was antihistamines and time....

Yeah...that's what I expect. I'm just having them look in there in case I need antibiotics or anything.

If it's wax, they can use warm water and plunger (using the pressure of the water) until the wax damn breaks and then antibiotic drops to prevent any infection.

dont let them send you home without doing it, as peroxide and drops usually doesn't work alone and your back again a week later.

If's it's an infection you will have to do the antibiotic drops or meds

They flushed out the clog...that was gross.

But the doc still said there was an infection, so I'm getting antibiotics too.

Need to get me a 60 ML syringe from work. That little squeeze bulb i had didn't do anything.

It's happened to me a few times Lee so I knew the drill. Don't use q tips anymore, just a warm wash cloth, soap in the shower. Yah, when they pop and all the wax comes out it's amazingly gross! ewwwwww I would generally not use the bulb on your own, a Doc, PA, or med student can see into your ear canal and do it properly. It has to be a big one with big time pressure. The pressure can be uncomfortable.

I also recommend you wear hearing protection at any loud concerts from now on and stay away from louder music for a week or so until the infection goes away.

Yeah. I stopped using q tips a while ago...which is why I think I was having issues for the first time.

I can get some smaller plungers from work just to do some weekly maintenance....but the big one she used felt really good.

Yeah, don't do the syringe thing at home. I've seen patients rupture their tympanic membrane by using too much pressure.
