For anyone who followed me on Instagram, I have chosen to deactivate all of my social media accounts (including Instagram). I was wasting too much time on them. Don't worry, I plan to continue posting on N&G!
Wow, we are almost half way through 2022! I'm not on the forum as much as a lot of you, so I was wondering if there is any mid-year thread or posting or voting or anything (like there is at year's end)? I know many of you put out mid-year "best of so far" lists (as do I). Are there any special parameters for these lists that I may be unaware of? #FOMO Thanks!
Just finished Kendrick's new album. Absolutely floored. Lyrically, Kendrick is graphically blunt and brutally honesty, offering transparency and showing personal growth. This is the first album in quite some time that's made me cry. "Auntie Diaries" and "Mother I Sober" are two frontrunners for song of the year. Even after my inital listen, MM&TBS is surely an AOTY contender.
Any chess players on here? I used to play online a lot back in the day, but haven't for awhile. I reactivated my old account on the chess.com app the other day. My handle is scacchicaddict if anyone is interested in playing ♟Let me know ✌
As some of you know, I've been putting out album reviews on my Insta since the start of the year, but, unfortunately, I'm going to be putting those on hiatus for now. They take a lot of time and I'm st too busy with priorities (family, work, chores, and, of course, listening to as much music as I can). I will, however, still do my best to involve myself in discussion, recs, and list making as much as I can ✌
My first AOTY 2021 video is up! 2021 AOTY season is just around the corner, so here is a "what to expect" video from me to you! Stay tuned! (Also posted in the Best New Music thread)
Filming my first AOTY video for 2021 now! Then editing. Hope to have it up later today or sometime tomorrow. Hope you're looking forward to it! #YesImAMusicNerd
So since I (finally) have some time off work, I'm starting to look hard at AOTY for 2021 I've spent the last 2 hours organizing albums. Let me say this: 2021 is the most painstaking year for ranking albums because there are just SO MANY quality releases...
Well, if this source is correct, no Colin Edwin for whatever is upcoming for PT? Steven's top collaborating artist, Sir Nick Beggs, would be my top guess as to who would fill the bassist spot
I'll make a Q2 update in the Best Music of 2022 thread, of course.
