also chappelle is accidentally ableist by requiring people to say hannah gadsby is not funny.. sure you might not like nanette or douglas and there are good reasons to (the outline article about it made some interesting points), but its also attacking someone for being gay and autistic even by accident

It's sad. There is an important conversation to be had around the privilege and biases of white liberal wokeness but this is not the way to go about it. Hypocrisy to point out hyppocrisy is a weak premise. Maybe he needed to struggle more with his beliefs before going down this path. I hope there is conversation and everyone comes out a better human.

@jaycee I would hope so, but I feel like the greater outcome of this is all the hateful discourse im seeing in prettymuch every public thread about this. Not to mention his deeply privileged comments digging himself deeper and deeper, and reinforcing some fucked up transphobic mindsets. He may still think he's some sort of ally in his mind, but the effects of his actions are extremely painful.
