Not feeling Sault’s Nine anywhere near as much as the first 4. It’s not bad by any means but nothing stands out and it underwhelms in comparison. Plus “You From London” makes me want to throw my turntable out the window…
My head is clearly off somewhere completely different tonight.
I just looked at the clock and realised it’s 11.30, that I started listening at 8.45, and that I’ve been listening to the same album this whole time, just getting up and flipping it over and back again without paying any real attention…
Sometimes on nights like tonight when I’ve had a nice amount of drink, and am listening to some beautiful presses of some wonderful albums, I think that for all my many faults and weaknesses I’ve not done too badly on the roulette that is life.
I’ve noticed the word flavourful appear in my midst a few times recently. I know it’s a word but it just sounds so wrong to my ears when compared to flavoursome.
Is it’d wide use a recent phenomenon? Or is it one of these American/British divide things and that’s I’ve seen it more recently through here and our increasing exposure to not just the big series but also trash American tv?
There's room at the top they are telling you still,
But first you must learn how to smile as you kill,
If you want to be like the folks on the hill,
A working class hero is something to be
As I was goin' over the Cork and Kerry mountains
I saw Captain Farrell and his money he was countin'
I first produced my pistol and then produced my rapier
I said, "Stand and deliver, or the devil he may take you!"
Musha ring dum a doo dam a da
Whack for my daddy-o
Whack for my daddy-o
There's whiskey in the jar-o
