I havent really enjoyed his solo outings so far, but I stayed up way too late last night listening to this one and yea it's pretty, pretty good.

I liked The Eraser but I do kind of agree with you. I think given the glitchy electronica he goes for it can feel a bit distant and cold but I think with this album he’s nailed mixing that with warmth and humanity.

I always heard Thoms solo work just want as good as his main work

Tbh I was even kinda hoping for it because I can't afford to spend so much money in deluxe vinyl

Though tomorrow's modern boxes is on my backlog

I'm liking it a lot more than I expected. I can't even remember if I've heard his other solo stuff. Do the other ones have a similar lo-fi IDM feel?

I questioned if I should say lo-fi but some of the beats seem pretty gritty/distorted as opposed to really clean and clear, I think? Or are you saying you don't know what IDM is @Joe Mac?

Stands for Intelligent Dance Music, so pretty much it means bleeps and bloops

Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Autechre, etc. If you haven't heard of those check them out. If you have and you just refer to them as general electronica or dance music, you're right too. I think IDM is kind of a dumb genre name but it is sort of effective to sort stuff like Aphex Twin from Marshmello. Kind of a pretentious genre name I guess.
