I tried culling my collection.
Started with Jazz, by record 5 they were all looking at me, teary-eyed.
"why don't you love us anymore?"
Now I am searching for extra storage space.

Hahaha yep... I'm not starting with Jazz that's for sure... But this is definitely happening...

Don't bother posting here with your warped, noisy records. Also, if I see your cogs listing as anything better than Fair I'm calling the police.

Please guide me, oh wise one, with the proper strategy for this undertaking. I really need to cull a few as well.

Oh god I hoped you could help me.. This is like the blind leading the blind here, I'm just fumbling around in the dark pawing at things and occasionally ugly crying...

So like you’re going to be a sparkly vampire? Wait. That’s the Cullening. Just sit down. You’re not doing anything with those records. You’ve got other stuff to do.

Seriously, I try to do this every 3 or 4 months and end up pulling 8-10 albums that I think I don't need anymore for one last spin and then play them and remember why I got them in the first place, shrug, and re-shelve them. They're my babies, I can't just sell them or give them away.

I'm actually comparing some against the streams and the ones that badly lose to the Hi Rez are going.. Like Khraungbin Mordecai, good lord that's a terrible press. They sound like they're singing down a phone that's stuffed under a bed.

That's fair. The records I contemplate culling the most are the ones I also have on CD that originally came out during the CD era. Do I really need S-K's The Woods on vinyl and CD? According to 'Cogs I could sell it for $50. But then I'd have to list it, pack it, ship it, and stress it might get dinged in transit, or the person hears some pops I didn't. And that sounds stressful, so I just leave it on the shelf.
