Uhaul Small boxes are what I’ve used twice. Handles sometimes break but only when I’ve packed them too heavy or used a box a second time.

Stuff in this thread and the cleaning one sometimes as well. The TL; DR for the US is that the UHaul boxes do the job well.

The right UHaul boxes are good + best price. If you want more expensive ones, I have also purchased these before: (5) 12" White Record Boxes with Lids - LP Vinyl Album 33rpm Cardboard Storage 190153031157 | eBay But they are pricey. Really good for long-term storage though.

From what I have seen, UHaul boxes (Medium) are less than $1 each and they will buy back what you don't use.

@wokeupnew About how many records can you fit in one of the small u-haul boxes?

If you have cats, I would spring for the white boxes. They have enough head space that if a cat lies on the box, they won't crush the records. Considering how much money is in one box of records, the white ones are worth it if they are going to be shuffled a few times. I say this because I'm selling records and it is a struggle keeping a cat away from cardboard! The Uhaul boxes fit about 25% more than a Kallax.

It's only a cross town move so my plan is to pack them up and store them at my parents house for a few days so they're not banged around (no cats there).

@dbarila I wanna say 50~ I remember just buying a bunch because they're good boxes for almost anything you're moving too. I think 1 box = 1.5 Kallax cube. Also they're sturdy where I didn't feel like I needed to stuff the sides with cushioning. If you're only going across town they should work well

Uhaul Boxes here, been a while so not sure what the cost is now.

@dbarila i think i might still have a uhaul box packed with records so I can see how many approximately they fit if you want.
