Most often if the box is a slipcase I leave em in and if it’s a box with a pull off lid I will pull the LPs out.

I keep and store the empty boxes together and file the LPs within my larger collection.

In seems most logical. But its also a pain to get them out when you want to listen to them. I feel like they stand a better chance of spins if they're easily accessible.

Just an FYI, the box set that got me thinking is the Bright Eyes Studio Albums box set. It's also nice tip on sleeves too.

I keep them in the box, and have all the box sets out beside my shelves rather than on the shelves. Also I have that Bright Eyes box and highly recommend it. It’s fantastic
