I sell alot on Discogs and most offers are super reasonable. But lately I've gotten ALOT of lowballs, and DMs on items without offers open, like you're saying. It's pretty obnoxious.
Especially because I always list based on sales history and try to put mine as the lowest priced option for whatever condition it's graded.
I recently sold my CD of Frank Ocean's Blond and while it only went for almost half of what I expected, a dude offered me less than half of that and said “pls accept I'm a really big fan.” I proceeded to worry about wording my decline of the offer nicely and immediately re-listed the auction without “or Best Offer” turned on.
Yeah, it's not even that I need the money, I've just been going through my collection going “oh yeah, I don't listen to that. whas that? It goes for how much?”
Yeah I’ve listened to it twice in two years. I have Channel Orange on CD and that’s one I really like. €300 is a LPKIDA1 & an OG EU Amnesiac and some change to spare. If it takes a while to sell at that price that is ok, I’m happy for it sit in my collection in the meantime.
I got mine for a lot better prices by keeping my eyes peeled on eBay, but for Kid A I'd point out that 1. there's a version that uses the original plates that doesn't have LPKIDA1 on the back that's a lot more affordable, and 2. there's in theory a reissue due soon here maybe I guess it's already the end of 2020 then again the anniversary's not until October so.
Oh, I'd not heard about that but alright. Kinda surprising but maybe with Amnesiac there's not really much left around from the period. Or maybe they're going to do it as a Kid A/Amnesiac double-bill, in which case it'd be a year away anyway. I suppose go for it then.
The XL 2x10 of Amnesiac, with the weird Parlophone labels on the records, actually sounds pretty good. The Capitol Kid A that I have stinks. Well actually it doesn’t stink but it sure is flatter than I would like dynamically.
XL 10” Amnesiac with Parlophone labels. Have you looked at the runouts? I don't think I've heard of that. But at any rate, yeah going for Kid A makes sense in this case.
Yeah, huh. I think that's from the same series as the second Capitol Kid A but I didn't realize they were sold under the Parlophone label as well, very odd.
