Probably going to go with the digital only one. I used to be team physical but ever since starting to buy digital I don't think I can do physical media again with my gaming. Hoping to get day one though, even though my available time will be next to nothing starting in January.
I just go physical for the trade in value. Until digital comes down in price I don't see the point. Although post COVID I'm not sure if any of the local used game stores will still be in business...
I dont think I can support $70 price tag on games, especially If they still pull the same microtransactions, season passes, DLC and loot boxes bs of the past generation
@Fleetwood-Matt some video games were $80 in the 90s (e.g. FF6), the fact that they are still $60 now is unsustainable. The entire reason they have bullshit like micro-transactions is because people refuse to pay what games actually cost. Big AAA games should probably cost $100, if we wanted to pay people who work on them a reasonable salary.
@gouis I have to respectfully disagree with you on that one. The publishers who pull these schemes dont care about that, the price raise and the cons arent being trickled down to the workers, it's just a way for greedy CEOs to further line their pockets.
The problem isnt that they are raising it 10 bucks. It's that they are still gonna sell us shells of games and expect consumers to thank them and when they sell the rest of the game to us later. Most games already cost well over $100 dollars after all is said and done and workers are seeing their wages go up
