I haven't dipped my toes into selling yet. But I'm considering it.

100% agree. In a weird way, it makes me feel like a small business so I love the process of packing up, even throwing in some stickers, etc.

It's also how I justify the hobby to myself. Otherwise records will pile up and I start to dread just having all these *things* around me.

I've sold occasionally in the past but just recently put up alot and had 50+ sales over the past couple weeks (which gave me more than enough money to upgrade my speaker setup). Everyone was a pleasure to deal with even with a stupid label mixup on my side, the buyers were super cool about it while I got it sorted. Honestly I'm looking forward to buying more mailers and putting up the next batch.

@Melt Face Molly Drop Right? It's nice to able to use money from selling to buy more, and it's incredible how little even opened records depreciate in value. Most I was able to get at least what I paid, and alot way more.
I have a 4x4 kallax and my goal is to sell enough for everything to fit in there nicely (I have awhile to go).

Definitely. It’s also nice to be able to throw someone a bone every once in a while via PIF or selling below cost and not have to feel bad about it. Not that people would feel bad but ya know, we all got bills to pay.

Yep. After I hit my goal to buy my speaker set, I was just accepting offers left and right. Makes someones day and saves me the extra trip to the post office.

Honestly the only thing holding me back is the complete inability to purchase good mailers up here. I wish I could buy whiplash mailers somewhere.

@Mather in the probably 5 years I've casually sold things pretty consistently, I've never bought a mailer. Always reused and I think I've had 2 issues, both USPS-related.

@Melt Face Molly Drop yeah I think the issue really is frequency. In Canada generally we don't buy as much online because there really aren't much in the way of online retailers. So I don't really accumulate mailers, and those that I do, get PIF'd.

There's only 1 resolution for that... move to Buffalo

I grade everything VERY conservatively and have never had issues selling. Everybody had been chill and as long as you have good communication, things are really easy to deal with. I’m curious about how the new shipping policies will affect discogs...

Same. I grade very conservatively and people have overall been very happy. I usually reuse mailers but I also bought Ulines for this batch and just made sure to always use cardboard fillers. Only had one issue (that documented DESTROYED carly bliss record) and that was in a re-used bullmoose mailer, completely USPS's fault

That’s tough. I love those Bull Moose mailers tho. Easy to repack, overall pretty solid corner protection.

My next batch, Im moving away from Uline since I was scared for every one with corner protection. Likely going Mighty Music Mailers as they seem close to Whiplash but without the ridiculous price + shipping. I want to buy bullmoose type mailers in bulk but have come up real short in finding them.
