I mean their picks lately are not very good, so I’ve been out on them. But this guarantees I won’t be back. They’re clearly now crashing and losing more memberships...and will 100% lose even more with this price increase.
To be offering up a single record for that price monthly, you gotta be like a high-end premium sort of club (Third Man is one of the priciest subscriptions but it’s been more worth it than not...with albums and extras uniquely fitted for the club). VMP is not that.
Nah they have truly driven the price way up high. I've got records from them the past while I didnt necessarily want e.g. Salt N Pepa, they rarely ever have store exclusives I want so what do I get from the membership? Certainly not enough for 52 dollars no way
@Jmcg85 They have some cool records but they aren't worth 52 a month or even $43 a month. I have been with Magnolia Record club since its inception and continues you being $25 a dollars a month. You paying $52 a month for shitty customer service and damaged records. I will pass. I don't think this going to help them, espcecially in a pandemic when people are out of work.
@mitchplease crunched the domestic numbers. The % increases are insane and I dont even want to see the international ones
Domestic
Monthly: $31>$43 = 38.7%
3 Month = $81>$119 = 47%
6 Month = $150>$219 = 46%
1 Year = $299>$399 = 33%
Swap = $23>$33 = 43.5%
