I've never had any Sonos products before this but as far as I know the sound quality is just as good as anything else they make. The speakers are streaming only though. There are no inputs.
I recently got two Symfonisks to add to my system (1 x Stereo Play:1 set up, 1 x single Play:1 and 5.1 system with playbar, sub and two Sonos Ones) and I'm very impressed. Sound is totally comparable with the Play ones or Sonos Ones, but at about half the cost.
Maybe surround sound Sonos is back on the menu....and yes @Joe Mac is right--I think only the 5 has an input but that doesn't really bother me much. Bigger annoyance is that they are capped at 44.1 quality so can't be used for high-res digital but can use my other speakers for that!
They’re up to 24/48 now @MikeH but yeah that’s still not the 24/192 that qobuz is capable of. Surround Sonos with the base/bar and 2 1’s is awesome, if the lamps match your decor that would be a really cool way to go surround!
I've got the Beam and it's great. Takes up little space but delivers big sound. I have to talk myself out of getting a sub + 2 Sonos Ones at least once a week.
@Melt Face Molly Drop great to know...I might look into that + 2 of the ikeas for rear speakers for surround...then I have my diff set of speakers for TV viewing. Been looking for a wireless surround system set up for awhile and last time I looked at Sonos it was REALLY expensive.
Been using a paired set of Sonos One's in the living room and it makes a huge difference. I also put a Sonos Bridge Connect on my main system (in the basement man cave). I mostly use Sonos to either stream Spotify into the stereo or in the living room, but I also have it wired to pick-up the turntable in the basement so I can send that signal to the paired Sonos in the living room. Works well in a pinch.
Yeah, I'd have to pull the receiver to check but IIRC, I have the rec-out of the receiver into the line-in of the Sonos Bridge Connect. Then I set the sonos app to play the line-in. The receiver is on Phono then.
