off when in use, on when not in use.

On, 100% of the time when not playing. Off when playing. I have mine in a very well lit room that receives tons of natural light, I keep a very clean house but the amount of dust that attracts to the TT is unreal.

I leave mine open but attached. It leans against a wall and is only joined to the turntable by flimsy rubber tabs, so I don't think it has any real negative effect on SQ.

Mine doesn't have a hinge, so off when listening to records and on at all other times!

When playing? Sitting on the floor. Possibly used as a snack tray on the table. When not playing, it’s covering. From the dust. Because, you know.

Always on unless changing records.

On when not in use, off when spinning
