I find doubling the spin clean rotations I do to 10 each way, or tripling to 15 for something really dirty, has sorted any second had record. Both of those is outweighed by finding something awesome that yoiu really want, or that’s out of print, for less that €10 and by how good some OG presses sound!

Like you have Discogs in your pocket it’s easy to figure out and I still find 70s/80s represses more often than not outstrip modern ones.

Yeah, early presses are so damn good. It’s almost like vinyl was a primary format they mastered for instead of an afterthought for digital files. Also, if the vinyl is in really good shape it‘s usually not very dirty either. I am cleaning new records just as well and half the new shit is warped, bubbled, skips, etc. There is no additional burden going used IMO.

I love the thought of having a connection with someone like 40 years ago spinning that very same record, and enjoying that same music coming from it.
