Haha nice reference, luckily we've got mattress covers on both beds, so no real harm done but damn, 55 pound dogs have significant amounts of pee in reserve.

Every dog we've ever had has come from the pound, humane society or a rescue. None have been what you'd classify as 'normal'. They tend to have some hang-ups, just as we would if we'd come up the same way. But I wouldn't trade any of them for anything.

Oh absolutely, I totally agree. I love them both, it's just funny they waited till now to start their luke warm pee war. I expected it, but I expected it a couple months in, not 8...

Good on you for having the patience and love to give to them. We need more folks thinking that way when it comes to animals.

You too friend. I really do think it's getting better. I tell every single person who asks me about my dogs when I'm out that they're rescues and I meet more and more young families in my area that have rescues. Never used to be the case, was always inbred designer dogs that live about 6 years before they develop some horrible condition and pass on. People are starting to figure it out.

Ok rescue pet owners. Are you shuddering at the thought of the re-training for separation anxiety that you will have to do after all this? Cause I sure am.

Actually my biggest thing right now is that our second rescue is very afraid of people, and up until this hit I was trying to get her around as many people as possible and kids and kids on bikes etc... But now that I can't she's visibly becoming more fearful of people, so I think that's going to be my biggest issue...
