It has been a minute since I had a formal job interview, and I've never quite had an experience like the one I had today, where I met with 5 people in 30 minute blocks. For those that are up on the latest job search etiquette, how do you handle thank you notes/cards these days?

A thank you email to each, at least. As a hiring manager, those thank yous were often what made otw similar candidates stand out.

Is email okay? I could kind of see it both ways...I could see emails being viewed by some as too informal, but then the idea of sending out handwritten notes could be viewed as old fashioned/tryin' too hard/a bit much. I know I'm overthinking this, but, I just don't want to commit an unforced error here. Thanks @Teeeee!

Thank you notes...according to my wife. I sent only emails recently and that worked fine. Maybe an actual note to the primary decision maker and emails to the others.

I'm old too. Lol. I found when i got the notes in the mail that it felt "quaint" to me. But we all know I'm weird. I did appreciate emails. It's how we communicate now, so i had no problem with it.
I will say that i got thanks yous maybe 25% of the time. So you'll stand out if you take the time in whatever format you on.

Given the number of people involved here, the age of folks that I met with, and that it is a digital advertising agency, I'm thinking email will probably be okay. Thanks guys!

I'm on the recruiting committee at my firm, so I'm always interviewing people. At least in my job, emails are the best path forward...no note at all sometimes makes people come off as feeling entitled to the job (depending on how they acted in the interview), and physical notes are a nice touch, but they usually don't arrive until after we've already made our preliminary hiring decision, so it's usually not worth it
