Upcoming/Recent Shows

So we’re in NY for a week to celebrate our anniversary (20 years) and, when we decided on our destination and dates, I joined a waiting list to see Bob Mould. I didn’t really think it would fly , but right after lunch today I received an email with the tickets!
It was fantastic!

Cheers on 20 years. We hit 41 this year. In this day and age, it seems pretty remarkable to find anyone who'll hang out with anyone else more than a few years. Congrats.

Had a busy couple of weeks. My last shows in the US for a minute.

My Morning Jacket - 4/25/25

I was at the first show of the sold out five night hometown run they just had. Great stuff of course! And really cool to see a couple friends of mine in Lacey Guthrie's band open. She came out during MMJ and they did a cover of Berlin's take my breath away. Lots of collaboration with the local openers. Great guys.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - 5/2/25

Finally the whole band. Almost 5 years after I originally had tickets to them (edit: and 2 yrs since i Saw Nick solo piano). Drove 3.5 hrs to Columbus for this which I don't usually like to do at all. But Incredible. Dude is still such an engaged and wild performer. Some songs went insane live like From Her to Eternity, Tupelo, and White Elephant. The new record isn't my favorite of his, but seeing the songs live helped me appreciate them more.

Fontaines DC - 5/4/25

Had to planned to hit this one up, but several friends were going so grabbed a cheap secondhand ticket last second. Another 3.5 hr drive to Columbus in one weekend. At least I didn't have to drive this time. Anyway, really solid! Listened to their newest record but not much else, and eas still not bored. They sounded really good.

Now I'm very tired. Lol

At the SVE show, Sharon held my hand during "Seventeen" and I was so awestruck that I didn't know how to react other than to smile back at her cheesily as she screamed the lyrics in my face lmao.

Yooooooooooo

Seeing them in a few weeks in Portland, pretty excited!

Also, they just got a nice write up in the New York Times last week (gift link below).

I love Sharon, fantastic performer and a genuine sweet person.

Pink Noise / Saetia ~ The Che Cafe, San Diego 5/4/2025

Been a rare few months between live shows for me. And this was exactly what I needed given the state of the world. Hung out in the back and watched the kids do their thing and the band show their appreciation for the energy brought.

My picture from the back below, but this set on instagram is fantastic.

I feel like they would be super loud live? Also that venue looks super intimate. Love catching shows at places like this.
Yes it's loud. I wore earplugs as did most people around me. I feel lucky to see them at this venue. My wife has a work conference here in Phoenix, so I tagged along to see Sleigh Bells. I had no idea about what the venue was. It holds about 500, so yeah, super intimate.

In Tampa for work and crossed schedules with the Sessanta 2.0 show with Primus, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.

Maynard is serious about the no phones/video thing. Saw multiple people get kicked out by security, I get the sentiment but seems kinda ridiculous. (They allowed phones for the last song hence all the screens you see in the wide shot of the stage)

Grabbed a shot of Les in his disco ball headgear.

Primus and APC were great, Puscifer just isn’t my cup of tea compared to the other two. But good show on a whim for a Thursday night.

Not sure if this counts as a show, but if you are in Phoenix, check out the the Musical Instrument Museum. Lots of cool and interesting instruments from every culture in the world. You get a set of headphones and walk around. As you pass by each country, there is a short video of the instruments being played.
Many of our favorite artists are featured as well.

It is much more than guitars, I just didn't take that many pics. You can also go to the hands on room and try some out for yourself.
