Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

I love movies, but have never understood buying a soundtrack as a souvenir of it.
Lol

There are a few really great soundtracks that exposed me to music that I might not have been exposed to otherwise and that I happen to love in their own right independent of the film…

Standouts are:
Born on the Fourth of July
Natural Born Killers
Stand by Me
Good Morning Vietnam
Platoon

Scores are a whole different thing.

Then there are things like The Life Aquatic Sessions

I’m astounded that anyone would want Footlose, but what do I know other than I have at least two soundtracks that are in much lower demand than Footloose. My soundtracks based on a quick search of my Discogs:
  • Blow Up (Herbie Hancock)
  • Coffy (Roy Ayers)
  • The Spook Who Sat By the Door (Herbie again)
  • Ascenseur Pour L'Échafaud (Miles)
  • Barefoot Adventure (Bud Shank)
  • The Mirror/Stalker (Eduard Artemiev)
  • Solaris (Artemiev)
Technically these are soundtracks, but instead of a mash-mash of songs by different artists, they’re really just albums by one artist made for movies (except for the oddly placed Jimmy Page/Jeff Beck Yardbirds track on Blow Up)

I admit to owning the Singles soundtrack strictly because it was an early date for me and mrs
