Picked up an UltraPhono to use with my StudioDeck and really happy with it.

She arrived today and got her spinning. Ended up with her for just over $400 shipped from across the pond. Used with very low hours. So far, very pleased.

So this happened today. Couldn’t pass up the deal I got on it so seeing how she sounds compared to the Opus3. Using my UHQR kind of blue for reference and I have to say I’m impressed. Not impressed with how long it took my to set up. My skills are slipping.

Hell of a deal! This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Just saw a Hana sl pop for under $500. Don’t remember if you’ve had exp with the Hana or not. What are your thoughts on it?

Was curious what you liked about the sonata3 vs the Hana sl as I may have a beat on a decent deal on a Hana but was originally thinking sonata. Thanks in advance.

Considering a Grado Reference Master 1 woodie with unknown hours. Seller asking 495€ shipped to the US. Currently running an Opus3 with thoughts of eventually upgrading to a Sonata3. Would the high output of the reference still be an upgrade from the current Sonata3? Is this a fair price...

I don’t know. I guess it just doesn’t feel like that much more futzing than disconnecting/connecting the leads when switching cartridges, but maybe you’re right. I was just hoping to figure out an easier way to compare/audition carts. Oh well.

Agreed not in the traditional sense but if willing to thread the leads when swapping carts it would save the trouble of mounting. Maybe not worth the trouble but thought it might be slightly easier than starting from scratch any time you might audition a new cart. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t believe so. Granted you’d have to carefully thread the leads out of the old headshell and in through the new each time you switched them but I’d think that would still make for easier swapping. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m assuming the headshell can be removed (w/o leads) by loosening the set screw for...

@Pergo just to add my two cents, I’m quite enjoying my opus3, courtesy of @Ghost, in my similar setup, studiodeck, ultraphono, Marantz pm6007. Just Cornwalls vs kefs. Plan to take advantage of Grady’s exchange program when the opus is at the end and turn her into a sonata
