    Soul Step Records Subscription

Just picked up a fire splatter Soul of Cash. The smoke version from last year was the first release after I had heard about this club... And I missed it. Glad I caught this one!

The Reader’s Nook - The N&G Book Thread

I had a quick (about 24-hour) work trip this week and took the opportunity of three pretty short flights to read Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh. It's a short one, about 100 pages, but I loved it. Cover art is wicked, too. Hope to see more from Tesh soon!

    Needles & Grooves AoTM /// Vol. 2 - August 2019 /// Khemmis - Hunted

I know literally nothing about metal or metal-adjacent music, so I'll give this one a shot with open ears once it's announced. From Deafhaven's wiki page: "A follow-up album, Sunbather, was released in 2013 to wide critical acclaim, becoming one of the best reviewed albums of the year in the...

    The Travelling Thread

I've never been to Japan, but it's on my short list... So I'm always looking for good deals to get there. Of the airports you listed, Chicago is probably your best bet for "cheap" flights. If you're flexible, that probably means about $600-650 round trip. But flexibility is the key. It's...

    Needles & Grooves AoTM /// Vol. 0 - June 2019 /// MARK DE CLIVE-LOWE - Heritage Vol.1

I finally found a shop in town that can actually get Heritage from their distributor... Everyone else I talked to said it was backordered. Supposed to be in on Wednesday. Asked about Heritage II, and that's on backorder for everyone I talk to. I guess I should just bite the bullet and order...

Nom nom nom - Food Thread

Before I got that roller, at least 80% of the time there was something horribly wrong with any fresh pasta I would make. The roller is really forgiving and will do a lot of the hard work for you... I would never have even attempted on a week night before I got it

Nom nom nom - Food Thread

Made some pasta tonight. I love the process of working the dough and rolling it out. But I always seem to forget that fresh pasta cooks in about 2 seconds... Final product was good, just a little overcooked.

    The Travelling Thread

Has anyone here been to Efteling in the Netherlands? Trying to plan a family vacation, and I'm wondering if this would be a good place to spend a couple of days with our 3 y/o daughter? Or would she still be too young to get much out of it?

The Reader’s Nook - The N&G Book Thread

Finally finished Neverwhere. I thought it was great, if not a little predictable towards the end. It did have some really powerful imagery that made me just the right amount of uncomfortable... Especially the Ordeal of the Key. Moving on to The Queue by Basma Abdel Aziz. I really don't know...

Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Current setup is here. I'm happy with my TT and my speakers. I think my next step is going to be replacing the cart with a Grado Gold. After that, I'm looking at replacing the 2150... I'm thinking of a KC Vibe phono stage, but don't know what to do between that and my speakers. I don't really...

    KEF LS 50 Bookshelf speakers

I have a set of LS50s and think they're great... even with plenty of room for improvement behind them (Outlaw RR2150 with integrated phono stage, Pro Ject Debut Carbon). I read through @Ed Selley 's review, and won't be able to give you any more insight than he does there. Just wanted to throw...
