The Leafs always beat themselves in the playoffs.

Someone on reddit captured it perfectly...you expect your big franchise players to still show up in the playoffs...all successful teams have that player. Matthews has never been that player. He dominates in the regular season, then disappears during the playoffs, same with Marner.
Big difference between cup winners, and the Leafs.

I know, this leadership group just can't seem to step-up. Do you really think Marner is gone if they don't get through this round? Like they let him walk? I imagine Tavares is in his last year either way too? Would be such a wasted "window".
