Finally picked this up yesterday, going through the liner notes and agree 100%. Really gives insight to the songs and album. No slight to recent DBT, but these retrospective songs on Pattersons past and the characters that inhabit it are where he really shines. Fantastic to get more background on George A. and how important that relationship was to him.Man alive does Patterson write fantastic liner notes!
I love this interpretation, and always appreciative that Kathleen returned to releasing music.
Laughed my ass off at the band not waking him up to meet Petty. That's great, loved the Booker T. session stories.
Oh, I just got to The Avon Lady song, and the lady who Patterson tells the story about is named Mrs. Belcher.
@Hemotep given the convo earlier my mind went right to Bobs Burgers. I couldn't picture Linda going to this level of desperation in selling, but now its canon to me that its Gayle Belcher in the song given her essential oil history.
Oh yeah! I forgot that was her last name. DamnDammit. It just occurs to me that its Gayle Gennaro. Shes a Belcher-in-Law. Not a Belcher. Oh well.
