What's Spinning

One day you relate to the perspective of the singer in the Charging Sky, then 18 years later you relate to the guy she refers to in the line "and my Dad starts growing Bob Dylan's beard".
It’s like how I went from relating to Bart to now relating to Homer. It happens so gradually you don’t notice until it’s pointed out and then you feel older than dust.

Still, getting old is better than the option.

This and his debut (The Return of Durruti Column) are both great. Vini Reilly is a real random character who made some pretty interesting stuff.
Yep. The one just called Vini Reilly is really good, too.

I also picked a 2000s one called Rebellion in one of those Deep Discount/ImportCDs blowout sales. It’s maybe the most random album I’ve heard. There’s some instrumental tracks like from the first couple albums, then a few with a female singer including a version of The Fields of Athenry, then a literal rap song in the middle of the tracklist.

His tribute album to Tony Wilson after he died is worth a listen to as well.
