Vinyl Me Please (store, exclusives, swaps, etc)

If I were to swap this upcoming month, would you guys go for Call Me or Veedon Fleece? Both have been in and out of stock and seem to have been magically repressed recently. I already have both Al Green's Greatest Hits and Astral Weeks (not really going deep here, but still).

Leaning toward Call Me. Would love to get a consensus for what was the better package.
I’d recommend going for Call Me. Both are great albums but the remaster of Veedon Fleece isn’t great and the pressing itself is super noisy. At least the 4 copies I have are. 5th on the way now.

This is all we have:
"In honor of the label’s 70th anniversary of bringing iconic jazz releases from artists like Etta Jones, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis and more, Vinyl Me, Please is partnering on four color reissues of gems from the Prestige catalog."
"Saxophone Colossus is the first in four planned titles with Prestige, each arriving before the end of fall. Expect big-voiced singers, multi-instrument masterpieces, and the beginnings of free jazz."
Yeah, I know that much. I just know we have some sleauths who have found out the records before they are released

Here are the next 2. I'm surprised they picked another Newbury one, they've been trying to sell Out There for a few years. All that's left is Miles Davis and that's probably going to be a Newbury repeat also

While I love Dolly and needed a copy of Jolene. Let’s not bury the Lede. This appears to be the first reissue of ‘Both Sides Now” since it’s initial release in any format. That seems wrong but I am not finding any others on Discogs. This album is a worthy add for “Gotta Get Drunk” by itself. Needless to say I copped the bundle and yeah I probably won’t actually receive any of these until December but that’s fine, I’ve already made it this long.

I was hoping to swap for Willie down the road (the last Willie sclusie hung around forever but iirc that was a bigger pressing) but I just noticed that this one is "limited" to 5 per customer, so it might not last as long as I would like.

Damn flippers I swear. I think this has potential to stick around though, just because there isn't a definitive pressing size. It could be like another Mariah situation?

So Newbury has a 600 run that hasnt sold out since 2015 and they went with it any here? Not sure that makes much sense... Has Storf said anything about new pressings or is it the same as with Sonny?

I thought Storf's post had it at 1K?
Oh, my bad. Yeah it is limited to 1k. I thought it didn't because on his page it doesn't have a number, so I thought it'd be like a Mariah Carey where they just press a ton and don't disclose how many because it's a pressing of a sought after album.

Well who's to say the page isnt right and Storf is wrong? :)

It's a head scratcher. I wonder who decided the picks for this? Was it more Prestige or VMP? Or is it like the Anthology where they were given a list to pick from? I see no reason to buy this, personally. I doubt it will be significantly better than the Newbury master (if it's different at all) and it definitely won't be better than the AP version, which is probably what I will get.

My guess is Prestige wanted to do another round of reissues and hit up a few retailers to carry them & vmp is the only one with the balls to pretend like this is some elite curation series

Newbury just put out a version of John Coltrane - Lush Life. It too is an OJC pressing just exclusive colour. I expect all of these to be like this. This series had potential, and I'll admit, I was excited at first but I doubt I will get any of them. At least Newbury makes it obvious that their Prestige pressings are OJC colour variants as noted on the release website.

If they are the same color as the Newbury that would be hilarious.
They are close enough that if I had one, I wouldn't want the other
